
Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 - - January 19th January 19, 2008) was an American theatre, film, television, and voice actress. 1. Pleshette began her career in theatre and was first seen in films towards the end of the 1950s. She then was featured in films of note such as Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), and Spirited Away (2001). She also appeared in numerous television productions, mainly in guest roles. She also was Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 until 1978, receiving several Emmy Award nominations for her work. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan),[1] and Eugene Pleshette, was born on January 31, 1937, in Brooklyn Heights. Her parents were Jewish and were immigrants from Russia or Austria-Hungary. She was the daughter of Geraldine Rivers, a performer and dancer.
